San Elijo Hills residents will be clearing out their garages this weekend at the annual community garage sale. The event will be held from 7-11am. If you’re looking for a bargain, you won’t have to look far this weekend.

Swim Level Assessments

FREE Swim Level Assessments will take place on Saturday, May 19 from 1-4 pm at Las Posas Pool. This quick process will help you know which swim session to enroll yourself or your child in. Summer Concerts in the Gardens

The San Marcos Summer Concerts in the Garden begins this Saturday, May 19 at the Wood House Gardens in Woodland Park (1148 Rock Springs Rd). Concerts begin at 7:30 pm and gates open at 6 pm. Tickets are $8 at the door. This week’s band is Skelpin (Irish/Spanish Fusion). Bring your beach chairs!

Encinitas Sports Festival

This Saturday and Sunday, 3,000 people will gather in Encinitas at Moonlight Beach for two days of sports competitions and fun. Festivities cover the entire weekend, so check the event website for details.

2012 San Diego Family Kit Festival

The 2^nd Annual San Diego Family Kite Festival will take place on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 11 am to 3 pm at Mission Bay Park. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some family fun. Musical Trash Birthday Bash

For the month of March, the San Dieguito Heritage Museum presents the history of cacti and succulents in the San Dieguito area. The Kumeyaay utilized these plants for everything from clothing and shelter to even food. Succulents survive on very little water and thrive in the dry California climate, which make them more popular as water conservation becomes a must. While visitors learn about the role of succulents, they will be decorating a pot and planting a few succulents to take home.
